Out and about in the age-old Bertembos

From Athena Helios you can walk straight into the Bertembos. It used to be part of the Kolenwoud (Coal Forest). Still one of the most beautiful places in Flanders, in every season. The walk goes along hollow roads, the Eikenbos (oak wood), fields and the Romanesque Sint-Pieterskerk (church).

In the Oak Forest, close to the radar tower, children can play, drag branches and build huts. Three cheers for the play mounds with passageways, the fox den, the sandpit, the amphitheatre and the hide-out with its green roof!
