This spring the adventure playground at Athena Ossendrecht was installed in just two days. That same Tuesday afternoon, April 23, the inspection already took place. This allowed us to open our brand new playground on May 1 as planned.

We get super positive reactions. It's great to see how children first walk carefully and a little scared over the balance beams, only to find their way around this course more and more smoothly and happily.

For the next twenty years, small and somewhat larger can have plenty of fun in this inviting place. In fact, the playground turns out to be so attractive that many adults have already tried it out. On the family swing, moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas have fun with their children and grandchildren.

For the little ones, there is the existing playhouse with swing and sandbox.

In short: everyone happy!

Yes, finally spring again!

The camping fun at our three parks starts again. We are ready with our whole team to give you a warm welcome and to make your stay carefree. So you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Of course there are also fun group activities on the program again.

The beautiful investments for this season are being completed. At the time you are reading this, the access road to Athena Le Perron has been paved. Within this and two weeks you can come sweat and relax in the brand new sauna at Athena Helios. On May 1, children will festively open the adventure playground at Athena Ossendrecht.

Our tinyhouse project is also really taking shape now. Do you dream of a handsome and comfortable mini house of your own at one of our parks? Soon it will be possible. You can read more about it in this magazine. And you are cordially invited to the viewing and demo days to see, feel and experience ... and to ask your questions.

But first we are going on a trip - already on paper - to the South of France. We take you to the top naturist village of Le Sérignan Plage Nature on the Mediterranean and to the family campsite La Clapère near Spain, at the foot of the Pyrenees. You'll learn about the last anchovy fishermen in Bergen op Zoom and about Filip Naudts, photographer with a mission. You will discover cheerful outdoor gadgets and help determine the winners of our photo contest.

Tiny houses are compact and cozy and invite close contact with nature. They are gaining popularity, but you can't just put them anywhere. We researched which models are most suitable for Athena and how and where best to place them in our parks. Sustainability, experience and integration into the green environment are paramount.

This year we will be flooded with cool activities for our members to enjoy, and that's not all - your camping spot and main meals are included in the package!

Located on the Dutch border, Athena Ossendrecht stretches over fourteen acres of unspoiled nature. With a swimming pool, an invigorating sauna and modern facilities, this is the ultimate destination for naturists of all ages!
For just €100, you can join like-minded people from all over Europe for an experience you'll never forget.

This event welcomes all naturists between 18 and 27 years old.

We kindly ask that you respect the core values of naturism at all times. In case of non-compliance, we reserve the right to exclude persons from the event, without refund. This decision will be made by the event manager (or campsite manager).

Don't worry about accommodation because it's all taken care of! And to top it off, all main meals (from lunch on the 9th to breakfast on the 12th) are included in the package. Get ready for a weekend full of fun, friendship and natural freedom!

Train: Berchem train station (24 km)

Plane: Antwerp International Airport, Belgium (28km/17miles)

There is a pick-up point near the train station and the airport. Please arrive between 12:00 - 17:00 Central European Time (CET) at the campsite or at the pick-up point.

Please note that the event is for affiliated members. Not yet a member and you are a young person (between 18 and 27 years old), please make yourself a member especially for this event for only 12 € pp (link: apply for membership). Please mention your name, date of birth and place of residence. Upon arrival at Athena, your membership card with INF seal will be waiting for you.

At Athena, we say goodbye to 2023 and are busy preparing for a splashy season in 2024.

In the coming year, we are going all out to make every child and parent at ATHENA happy. Think of a brand new, adventurous playground at Athena Ossendrecht, cute goats and bees at Helios, and learning circus techniques at Le Perron. We are introducing additional children's and family activities, and children even stay for free during the May vacations, on Ascension and Pentecost.

In April, Speelmaatje is installing an original play area at Athena Ossendrecht. The Dutch family business is based in Gelderland. The employees invent, design and build play equipment in-house for schools, municipalities, daycare centers and recreational parks such as the Lilse Bergen, Gaia Zoo and soon for Athena.

A natural environment stimulates children's imagination and provides building blocks for healthy outdoor play. Playing in and with nature. In this way children lay the foundation for a healthy physical and mental development. Speelmaatje stimulates this through thoughtful design and by building safe, green and adventurous playgrounds.

Playmate uses timeless childhood fun as inspiration for her creations. Climbing a tree, building a hut, bicycle racing on wasteland, building a dam in a stream, walking across a fallen tree or just chatting with the girlfriends and friends.

Speelmaatje processes robust robinia into play facilities. This durable hardwood species with its characteristic whimsical shapes lends itself ideally to inviting play objects that fit into a natural environment.

Extra nice: the wood comes from plantation forests where there is a replanting obligation.

At our facility in Ossendrecht there will be a spectacular course where children can climb, hang, swing and balance. The high ropes, beams and platforms are connected by running logs to a big, sturdy play tower. The slide goes down the hill again. The extra large family swing can be enjoyed by six at a time. In addition to the fun equipment, the bushes, trees and hills are at least as important for the play fun.

Come celebrate spring to the fullest during these official days off in May. The kids can in this period join us for free to discover our new adventure playground. And have fun with the animation, while you relax in our wellness.

Wellness, also beneficial for kids

Busy school days, homework, hobbies and sports ... For children, the pause button is also welcome. Let them relax for free in the cozy warmth of our wellness. This summer, our oasis of calm is already reserved one hour a week entirely for our children's club @eendje.

Fun children's and family activities in July and August

During the summer vacations, as usual, we provide plenty of great experiences for children at our three parks. At Athena Ossendrecht, Christophe and his team are driving around with the golf cart to pick up the children and bring them to @eendje. We are also planning some activities that you can participate in with the whole family or family, or do independently when it suits you best.

At our receptions you will find leaflets with nearby experiences

In the surroundings of our parks there is also a lot to see and do for children and families. A climbing forest, nature walks with assignments, a castle visit, a cheese farm, bike rental ... Ask at the reception for the specific leaflets.

Our Wellness with spacious Finnish sauna, soothing steam bath and beneficial infrared cabin is now also open on Thursdays.

Thursday we are open from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Those who are thirsty can visit "the Baar" for a drink.

Unwind in the relaxation room. Cool off in the outdoor pool or under the rain shower.
Of course there are also regular massage sessions.
As a member of Athena you can visit our Wellness for only 10 €. Non-members pay 13 €.

During the May vacations, children stay for free at Athena, we provide extra children's activities and parents can relax in our Wellness or enjoy a walk in nature in the meantime.

Most safari tents will have a fixed door in 2024. So you will experience an even more comfortable stay.

What can you submit?

All nature photos are eligible. The only condition is that the photos are taken on or in the vicinity (max. 10 km.) of our Athena parks. And that we may use the photos afterwards, subject to naming, to promote Athena.

This allows us to show our visitors the beautiful nature on and around our Athena parks.

Maximum 10 photos of wildlife, landscapes, plants, close-ups of natural scenes and textures, trees ...

We are looking for nature photos. Not necessarily of people. For privacy reasons, we ask that if there are individuals in the photos, they have given permission for the photos to be published and used by Athena.

 

How to participate.

Send your high-resolution photos to info@naturisme-athena.org. Use "nature photo contest" as the subject. For example, use (the free version of) Wetransfer (link).

For each photo, please state
