Walk Border Park Kalmthoutse Heide

 WALK

Saturday we will take a beautiful and varied walk of about 12 km in the Border Park Kalmthoutse Heide.
We leave with a number of cars to our starting point at Hazeduinen.

From the start, we hike into the forest to enter a more open landscape with sand dunes and heathland further on. From then on, pine-wooded paths and heathlands alternate the course. Although we won't notice much of it we cross the Dutch-Belgian border twice. Here and there we also have a view of a moor. At a nice spot we pause and can have our picnic packet (see below). Then follows the last part of the hike to finish back at Hazeduinen, where those who wish can finish the hike with a drink.

Here and there we walk through loose dune sand, wear sturdy shoes or sports shoes. The walk is 12 km and we walk at a leisurely pace. We stop regularly to enjoy the surroundings. Bring a backpack with 1-2 liters of water per person, your picnic (to order), a (compact) raincoat and possibly an energy bar or something sweet.
