Opening new playground with pancakes!

In late April, Speelmaatje, a Dutch family-run company, is constructing an adventure playground at Athena Ossendrecht.

Climbing a tree, building a hut, bicycle racing on a vacant lot, ... Timeless children's fun that Speelmaatje likes to use as inspiration for her creations.

By playing outside, children lay the foundation for healthy physical and mental development. By thoughtfully designing - as well as building safe, green and adventurous playgrounds - we encourage this.

Speelmaatje processes Robinia wood into play facilities. This durable hardwood species with its characteristic whimsical shape lends itself ideally to the composition of play objects that fit into a natural environment.

The "playful" way of building with the whimsical shapes stimulates children's imagination and makes the devices look adventurous and challenging.

"Good to know: the wood comes from plantation forests where there is a replanting requirement."

At Athena there will be a spectacular climbing course where you can climb, hang, swing and balance. The high climbing course with ropes, beams and platforms will be connected by running logs to a large, robust play tower from which you will slide back down the tower and down the hill via the slide.

A large family swing that can accommodate six of you will provide hours of swinging fun.

At the end of April the new playground will be installed on 2 days. Also the inspection is already scheduled so if everything goes well we can open on May 1!

The playground is designed for children ages 6 and up.
Smaller children can use the already existing playhouse with swing and sandbox.

All children are welcome to attend the opening on May 1 at 2 p.m. with pancakes. Njammie!
