Wanted for this summer: enthusiastic and creative job students with a big heart for children

At Athena, we believe that the vacation experience of our young guests is also invaluable. Therefore, we are looking for cheerful and responsible animators ready to give them unforgettable moments in Ossendrecht, Meerbeek or Waimes.

As an animator, you will be responsible for organizing and supervising activities with children of different ages. You create a stimulating and safe environment where children have fun, learn by doing and can make new friends. You work closely with other animators and report to the team leader of @eendje.

You are willing to work a variable work schedule, with weekends and varying hours.

Your talents

• You are good at interacting with children and creating a fun and educational environment.
• You have positive experience working with children, preferably in an entertainment team or educational setting.
• You are creative and able to devise and organize engaging activities ranging from crafts and games to themed events.
• You have excellent communication skills and approach children in a pleasant and engaging manner.
• You are energetic, optimistic and enthusiastic.
• You speak Dutch fluently. Additional language skills are a plus (especially in Waimes and Meerbeek).

Your duties

• Introducing the entertainment program to the children.
• Design and hang informational posters for the activities.
• Preparing the entertainment room, getting stuff ready, decorating according to theme.
• Organize or adapt animation sessions according to the course of the day and weather.
• Guide participants during sessions.
• Supervise the conduct of the activity and adherence to rules of play and manners.
• After finishing, clean up the entertainment room.
• Check material supplies and equipment and report shortages or defects.
• Recognizing difficulties or problems in a child and correctly address. Timely notify the person in charge of the park and the child's parents.
• Assessing children's health needs (ongoing treatment) and check the monitor application of medical prescriptions.
• Informing parents about the operation of @eendje.

What do we offer you?

• Hours per week: Expected hours 16 to 38
• Salary: A salary according to the scales of our joint committee
• Work Period: There is work in July and August and perhaps some weekends in the preseason. You will also work during weekends.
• Accommodation: If you wish, we can offer single accommodation.
• Facilities: Outside your hours, you can make unlimited use of the park's facilities.
