Tasty local: Melktap Juul
Juliën Hendrickx and his wife Saskia run a dairy goat farm near the Athenapark Ossendrecht with 1200 dairy goats and 400 rearing lambs.
Animal welfare and animal health are of paramount importance here.
The goats are kept on a pot-holding system. This means that the goats' dung is regularly covered with a new layer of straw. When the mixture of manure and straw has reached a certain height, the stable is emptied. The manure, which has now been well compacted and matured, can be reused regionally on the fields. Meanwhile, the goats lie in a nice thick layer of straw.
The roughage is produced on our own land.
Meltap Juul initially supplies milk to the Bettinehoeve in Etten-Leur, which is mainly used to make soft goat's cheese and milk powder for baby food. But because they are also proponents of the short chain and want to introduce consumers to their traditional products and unprocessed raw goat's milk, they started MELKTAP JUUL.
In the milk tap they sell daily fresh goat's milk.
And in the vending machine they have raw milk hard goat's cheese, various types of soft goat's cheese and in the autumn/winter season rice pudding.
They are happy to welcome you at MELKTAP JUUL, which is open 7 days a week from 7:00 to 21:00.
